Have you ever been asked to review a document in OpenOffice.org Writer?
Were there comments already in the document by another reviewer or the author?
Do you have something to add to a point that someone else already made?
What did you do?
Did you create a new comment to address the old one?
If you were the third one to get the file how many comments did you find?
Too many for your comfort?
Well here’s some good news – all the extra comments are not necessary in Writer – you can add your thoughts concerning the original comment directly in it.
Let’s take a look at how we will accomplish this particular feat:
At the bottom of the comment you’ll find a down-arrow.
The first choice on the list should be Reply. (This only appears if you are a different user so you won’t be able to see the reply option in your own comment.)
When you choose Reply you’ll be allowed to add onto the first and it will appear in a contrasting color. This means that all comments intended for the same point in the document are included in a single comment instead of 2, 3 or 4 separate ones.
That’s all there is to it – multiple comments for the same thing simplified.
