The folks at The Weather Channel have come up with an app for your iPhone that combines two popular app categories: Weather and Fitness. While you’d expect a great weather app from the weather channel, those who enjoy outdoor exercise will be impressed with the many features of this app.
Not only does it give you the weather forecast, it is able to analyze the effect of the weather on your performance. Pretty nifty. The app takes into account factors like humidity, air quality and cloud cover to figure out what conditions are best for your run.
Like other fitness apps it will also help you set goals, remembers your routes and analyzes your performance.
The app will also integrate with your iTunes and your phone’s calendar to help you find the perfect playlists for you activities and keep you on schedule. It uses the GPS and your iPhone 5’s motion sensor to measure your stride and track you. You can even attach your own heart rate monitor.
Of course, since it’s from The Weather Channel, it offers a forecast.
The app is free in the Apple App store, but unfortunately only available for iPhone users right now.
