If you’re one of the millions who use Pinterest, you’ve probably got a few cool items that are out of your price range pinned to one of your boards. Now the site can send you e-mail alerts if the price drops on one of your pinned items.
Back in May, Pinterest added a function that allowed you to see the price of pinned items from selected websites, but you weren’t notified it the price changed. Now, you’ll get an e-mail when the price goes down. The feature is still rolling out, so not everyone will see the e-mails just yet.
Pinterest users don’t have to do anything to receive the e-mails. They’ll start turning up in inboxes soon. The site promises to cut down on clutter by grouping price drops together into one e-mail instead of sending several separate ones.
If you don’t want the e-mails, you can select Settings from the drop-down menu under your Pinterest profile.
From there you can specify when you want e-mail notices and how often you want them sent.
Pinterest is making a big push to get businesses interested in using the power of Pinterest to reach consumers by introducing Product Pins that include real-time pricing, availability and purchase information.
