This is an amazing photo application that I just can’t get enough of, so you know I had to share it with all of you! Here at Pixisnap you can turn your favorite photo into a tiled mosaic or a collage of Polaroid style images!
It’s so easy to use to! All you need to do is select which style of photo you want to create, either:
Mosaic – the first thing you’ll be ask to pick is the size of the images used in the mosaic you are creating. The default is set to auto, and you’ll need to uncheck it to use the other sizes.
Next you’ll need to upload an image to make your mosaic with. You can do so by clicking either the Upload from PC button or the Enter Image URL button. The first one allows you to select an image directly from your hard drive. The second option allows you to enter an online image’s URL. On my computer, I right click the image and select Copy Image Location. Once you’ve selected the image you want click Upload, then you’ll be asked to confirm your primary image, if every thing looks right click Next. Now you’ll be able to select up to 20 more additional images to create your mosaic with. If you don’t have anymore you’d like to add, you can check the box to Mix in images from the Pixisnap gallery. Click upload, and wait for it to make your image. I don’t think I’ve waited more than a minute for any of the mosaics I’ve made.
When your mosaic is finished you’ll be asked to select the lighting used in it. Your options are light, medium, and dark. I seem to prefer light. Once you’ve done that you’re all finished click Next. Now you can select how you want to save your image. You can do four things with it! You can make it your Desktop, turn it into a MySpace layout, embed it in your profile, and create a profile avatar with it.
Or you can press the save button, but you’ll need to create an account to do that. Just fill out the form, and click Submit. Then save your image to your account.
Polaroid – Here again the first thing you’ll need to do is select the size of the image in the Polaroid part of the image. It works the same way as the size selector in the Mosaic section. Then you’ll select an image, the main difference here is you are only selecting one image. Click Next to confirm your image.
Now you need to select the layout of your Polaroid collage. There are four different styles to pick from, and then click the Next button. Now you’ll need to design the background. You have three different options to pick from: Plain, Design, and Animated. After you get your background sorted out click the Next button again. You’re now at the point where you have to decide what to do with your image to save it. You have the same options as the Mosaic section. I think that these Polaroid ones make excellent MySpace layouts, so if you’re on MySpace you should try it out!
Are you ready to go have fun with your images? Check it out!
