Ron, I found nothing native to Thunderbird that would do what you asked. However an add-on is available called Quick Folders that offers that option, and it worked
I have just migrated from Win 2k to Win 7 and really miss being able to use the keyboard shortcut (Win+U) to do a shutdown of my system. However, I don’t see any way to do this in Win 7. I know I can click Start and then click Shut Down
