Project Playlist

The music you listen to can say a lot about you. If you’re into the social networking Web sites (like MySpace, for example), you might like to post some of your favorites on your profile. But, if you’re not sure, how would you go about doing that? Certain sites like MySpace allow you to place a song on your page, but you’re also limited to a small selection and only one song. So, how would you like to be able to have a whole playlist of your favorite songs instead? Wouldn’t that be great?! Well, that’s exactly what we’ll be doing today with a great Web site called Project Playlist. Are you ready? Then let’s go!

.) First, visit this link. That is the registration page for Project Playlist.

.) You just need to create a username and password, fill in some of the other simple fields (like your name and e-mail address) and you’ll be all set. When you’re finished, click Create New Account.

.) Next, some advertisements from sponsors will be displayed. Just go ahead and click on the link that says, “No thanks, continue to my account,” which is listed right under the ads.

.) Now, just log in to your account with the information you just created.

.) You will then be taken to your homepage. To start adding music right away, click the button on the toolbar.

.) Next, type one of your favorite songs in the search box and then click Search.

.) You will then see a few listings of the song. Next to the listing that looks to be by the correct artist you’re looking for, click this plus sign:

.) A confirmation page will then appear. To make sure the song works and it’s correct, press the large Play button. If it is correct, press the green Check button. If it doesn’t work, click the red X and continue with step 6 until you find exactly what you’re looking for.

.) Next, click the link that says, “Click here to create a playlist.”

.) The song will then be added to your playlist! You will also see that you can add up to 74 more of your favorite songs to that same playlist. How cool is that?! To keep going, click Continue and then repeat steps 5 through 9 again until you’ve added as many songs as you’d like.

.) When you’re done adding all of your songs and you want to put them on your site, just click the button on the toolbar.

.) In the middle column, under Manage My Account, click the link that says, “Add your playlist to MySpace or Facebook.”

.) Then click the link that says, “Get the code.” (That’s the HTML code you will need in order to put your songs on your profile).

.) Now, select which code you want. You can choose between MySpace, Facebook or any other site you may use.

.) Next, go ahead and select the playlist that is listed.

.) Now, you’ll be able to tweak the player. You can select the color you’d like it to be, if you want it to automatically start when someone visits your profile and finally, if you want the songs to play in a random order. When you’re all done setting it up, click Get Code!

.) A large chunk of code will then be displayed. Highlight all of it with your mouse, right click and choose Copy. It will then be saved to your clipboard. Next, navigate to your profile page, open up the area where you can edit your profile, right click again and then choose Paste. That will paste the code to your site so that it will show up for all your visitors. Voila! You now have your very own playlist of all your favorite songs!

Now, in the future, if you want to add more songs, you just have to search and add the song. You don’t even have to recopy the HTML code. Then within a few minutes of adding the song, it will appear on your profile. Isn’t that just great? I hope you enjoy this one!
