Since one cause of slow file transfers in Vista and Windows 7 is the Remote Differential Compression, you need to disable that feature. Here’s how you do it:
1. Press the Start button.

2. Open the Control Panel.
3. Go to the Programs and Features section. In Vista, you can find that in the Classic View. In Windows 7, it can be found by selecting either Large or Small icons in View by:

4. Select Turn on or off Windows features from the left pane.
5. Next, uncheck the option for Remote Differential Compression.

That’s it! Now, your file transfers will be smokin’ fast. You just wait and see!
