I can’t begin to tell you how much of a radio fan I am! I was so thrilled to find this Web site. Radio Beta allows you to listen to the radio from all over the globe right from your computer chair. The best part is it’s free and you don’t even have to become a member in order to listen.
However, becoming a member is very easy. All you have to do is click on the Join/Log In link and fill out the form with your desired username, create a password, provide a working e-mail address and fill out the human verification code. The benefits of being a member are sweet too! You get to tag your favorite radio stations so that you don’t have to hunt for them later. Plus, you can listen to them from more than one location, such as your work place, school or home.
To get started, all you need to do is search for a radio station. There are three ways to do that:
Search by Geo – If you guessed that Geo stands for geography, you’re right! Choose a location from the strip above the stations and you’ll be given a listing of stations for that location.
Search by Genre – This lets you search by the genre of music you’d like to hear.
The really cool part is that once you’ve chosen one of the ways to search, you can combine them by refining your search further. For example, I wanted to hear a Trance station, so I chose the genre, selected Trance and then clicked on Refine By (once my results were loaded). I then selected from Continent, Band, Language or Tag. I chose Continent. After all that, you can refine your search even more by selecting Country or one of the previous options, such as Band or Language.
The third way to find a radio station is to type in the call letters or frequency of a station you already love. You can then go through the results to find it.
Now that you’ve found a station you want to listen to, what’s next? Well, click on the Play option in your results and the station will play. If you like the station, don’t forget to tag it so that you can listen to it again later. Enjoy!
