File this one in the “Wow, I didn’t know I could do that!” category, but did you know that you can re-name multiple files at once?
It’s possible! So next time you have a bunch of files, folders, or pictures with names like DSC_5678 and want to rename them in a more uniform way, do this:
Highlight all the files/folder in question…

Right-click, choose Rename and call it something that best describes them. For example, I had a bunch of pictures of a guitar, so I just renamed it “Guitar”.
Voila! A uniform naming convention!

To answer Allan Poe’s question: Henry, above, said this: Note the file that the cursor is on when rename is selected will be the 1st on the list.
So it seems that, if you want the order to stay the same, make sure that, after you’ve selected the files, you’re pointing to the top one when you right-click.
Good tip BUT be careful, I accidentally got a couple of hundred pictures named wrong with this.
