Good tip BUT be careful, I accidentally got a couple of hundred pictures named wrong with this.

To answer Allan Poe’s question: Henry, above, said this: Note the file that the cursor is on when rename is selected will be the 1st on the list.
So it seems that, if you want the order to stay the same, make sure that, after you’ve selected the files, you’re pointing to the top one when you right-click.

I love that you can still do this. I remember “back in the day” doing this with DOS at a command prompt. Excellent post!
