Resolving PayPal Disputes
To begin, I have a scenario for you. You see an item you like on eBay and you decide to bid on it. Two days later, you find out you won the item. You decide to pay via PayPal. Sure, that’s a great idea! However, when your purchase arrives, it seems as if the seller sent you the wrong item. But when you e-mail the seller to inform them about the mistake, they tell you they don’t offer any refunds. So, besides giving the seller a piece of your mind, what can you do? Well, get PayPal’s help, of course!
That’s right! When you pay by PayPal, you automatically get a mediation service built in. So, if you have a “PayPal dispute” you’d like to do something about, here’s what you can do!
1.) First, go to www.paypal.com and log in to your account.
2.) Click on the Resolution Center link at the top of the page.
3.) Next, click on Dispute a Transaction.
4.) Now, click either Item Dispute or Unauthorized Transaction (whichever applies to you) and then click Continue.
5.) Enter the transaction ID in to the text box. If you don’t know what the transaction ID is, click on Find Transaction ID, which is located next to the text box.
You’ll then have to enter in your concerns and choose why you’re disputing the transaction from a list of about 20 to 30 reasons. Your dispute will have to go through certain steps, but luckily, PayPal usually sides with the buyer. And even if they don’t, it’s at least worth a shot. Good luck!
