No, this has nothing to do with ribbon dancing or professional present wrapping – Ribbon Hero is actually and add-in for Microsoft Office 2007 that helps to increase your Office proficiency. Office Labs describes it as:
[Ribbon Hero provides] “online training in the nature of tutorials and “how to” demonstrations in the field of business application software; educational services, providing training and educational materials in the field of business application software; entertainment in the nature of competitions in the field of business application software user skills; and providing recognition and incentives by the way of awards and contests to demonstrate excellence in the field of business application software user skills.”
Sounds more like a game to me! Rumor has it that Ribbon Hero is also becoming a Facebook game, so you’ll be able to share and compare scores with your fellow productivity software brethren!
Still, Ribbon Hero is still in the early stages of development and therefore is not an officially supported add-in by Microsoft. You also need Windows Vista or 7 and MS Office 2007 to play, so this may turn some of the curious away…
