The holidays are coming, and I’m ready to be in full out baking mode! With that being said, I want to expand my horizons this baking season and really try new recipes. I’m sure I’ll keep a few favorites, like Russian Teacakes and Oatmeal Cookies with Raisinets that are lightly dusted with powdered sugar. I was watching the Flog on Geek and Sundry and this was one of the site highlighted in a cooking episode. So I opened another browser and was very pleased with what I found.
Scarletta Bakes is an amazing food blog filled with tasty treats that blend baking, southwestern ingredients, and dose of the author’s life. In my opinion, it’s a winning combination. In addition to being able to navigate the site blog style, you can also use the menu in the top right for the sections: Meet Scarletta, Recipe Index, Contact &Press.
Meet Scarletta will introduce you to the blog’s author, what her cooking influences are, and prepare you to be tempted by her beautiful images of food.
The Recipe Index is your go-to way to navigate the site if you’re looking for a recipe. The recipes are divided by categories. The blog covers breakfast, main courses, side dishes, lots of desserts, snacks, drinks, and even recipes for techniques. You’re sure to find something new and interesting to try. I want to make the Buttermilk Blackberry Crumble Muffins so bad. I’ll have to see if I can locate some decent blackberries. I also really love the inclusion of ingredients from the American Southwest; it gives her recipes a unique quality.
And I’m absolutely looking forward to making my own take on her Baked Nacho Pasta for dinner this week. There are some seriously good eats on this site for you to try, so go pick one out and whip it up today!
