This site is a magnetic poetry board for kids to make up poetry on. This is perfect for rainy Saturdays or for the snow days to come in the future.
You’ll find the directions on how to use the board right above it, but I’ll go over it here too. Just click on the word you want to use and drag it to the area where you would like it to sit. If you want to edit what a tile says, just Shift + click the tile.
For example, “A turtle shrink you.”
You can easily edit the shrink block by Shift + clicking it and typing the extra “s” it needs to make sense.
So, it now reads, “A turtle shrinks you.”
Is there a word you’d like to use but can’t because it isn’t listed? This too is easily remedied. Just Shift + click the board in a blank spot and type the word you want. Pretty easy, right?!
I find that with the ability to add words, you can have your children write poems on any subject that you want. You’ll also find different subjects scattered around the board, such as Alice in Wonderland, dogs and teacher topics.
Ready, set, create!
