Intel is arguably the biggest and most-trusted name in chips for computers. “Intel Inside” is considered a mark of quality. Now it turns out that the Intel Driver Update Utility poses a security risk. The driver checked for updates over an unencrypted connection leaving it vulnerable to an attack that could trick it into downloading malicious software.
Versions 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3 of the driver update utility are affected. Intel has issued a driver update that you can download by clicking here.
