Security Warning: Exiting Explorer

Unfortunately, there are some ignorant people in the world today and most of them are on the Internet. Recently, a cruel Internet prank surfaced that preys on just about anyone. But if you know what the prank is, you won’t fall for it, so please keep reading to learn how you can keep yourself protected!

The prank involves a “cool trick” that can be done by clicking on the Start button, holding down Ctrl + Shift and right clicking the space between your username and profile picture in Windows Vista. If you test it out, you’ll find that a new option is revealed since you pressed Ctrl + Shift. Now, whatever you do, do not click on Exit Explorer! If you don’t know what you’re doing, you could stop parts of your computer from working (such as Windows Explorer, which is one of the backbones of the Windows operating system).

If it’s too late and you think you already fell for the prank, here’s what you can do:

1.) Press Ctrl + Alt + Del.

2.) Click Start Task Manager.

3.) Click on the Applications tab.

4.) Click New Task (at the bottom of the box) and type in “Explorer.” You should now be good to go once again.

This is something not a lot of people know about, so be sure to warn all your friends about it too. Stay safe!
