Send a Page by Email in Opera

Betsy R. asks:
I have recently begun using Opera as my browser and I really like it, but it’s taking me awhile to learn. For instance, the other day I wanted to e-mail a web page to someone and for the life of me I couldn’t find out how to do it! Can you help?

A:
Hi, Betsy! Thanks for writing.

I too like Opera a lot, and you’re right; it takes some getting used to. E-mailing somebody a web page is easy. There are actually three different ways to do it.

Method #1: Right-click any area on the web page you would like to e-mail. A short option menu will pop up. If you look a little ways down, you see Send Link by Mail. Click on it and it will bring your main mail client up. Then you can send the web page.

Method #2: Again, right-click anywhere on the web page. When the pop up menu appears, click on Copy Address. Open your mail client, compose your e-mail and e-mail the link as an attachment. (Note: Opera has saved me time by having this feature. How many times do you try and send an attachment which is a link and can’t because “it may be unsafe” (or whatever it says)? That irritates me. I would have to go copy the address and paste it into the body of the e-mail, which takes up more time than I like to spend. You can still do that, but Opera has eliminated the need for it by doing the copying and attaching it itself. I tried it, and sent the link; no problem.

Method #3: Go up to the very top bar and click on File, then click on Save As (save it as Web page, single file.) Save it anywhere you want to (the desktop is the easiest, probably; it’s easier and quicker to find and attach) and then open up your mail client and compose your new e-mail. Then navigate to where you saved the web page, attach it, and send.

There you go! No problem e-mailing those web pages now!

And have fun with Opera, Betsy!
