You’ve probably noticed that a lot of smartphone users don’t bother to wear a watch. They count on their phones to keep track of the time. A lot of folks also use their phone as their alarm clock. That’s because it’s super-simple and convenient to set alarms on your phones. You can set a wake-up alarm or just small reminders during the day for things like taking your medicine. Let’s check out how it’s done.
First, you’ll need to find the Clock app on your phone and open it.
Choose Alarm. Tap the plus symbol to add a new alarm.
This screen will open.
To adjust the time for the alarm, just tap the arrows.
Select the day or days for the alarm by tapping squares. You can also choose to have the alarm sound weekly.
Scroll down and you can select the sound you want for the alarm and the volume.
Tap Alarm Type to choose either Sound, Vibration, or Vibration and Sound.
Tap Tone to select from a variety of tones that you can preview by tapping.
Tap Add to choose sounds from your phone. You can choose any sound you like, including your favorite songs.
Another interesting feature is the location alarm. Choose it, and you can set an alarm to go off when you reach a certain destination. If you’re afraid you’ll nod off on the bus or train, this will alert you when you pull into the station.
Just type in your destination and confirm.
You can turn on the Snooze function if you’d like a few extra chances getting started.
If you’re a heavy sleeper, consider trying out the Smart Alarm feature. The sound will start low and then grow increasingly louder until you wake up.
You can choose a build-up time between 1 and 30 minutes as well as your preferred sound.
Tap the Name box to type in a name for your alarm.
Make sure to hit Done and your alarm is ready to go.
You can see a complete list of your alarms in the Clock app under Alarms.
