My weather location keeps changing in MSN. Is there a way to fix this problem? I’m using Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7 64bit. Thanks!
Hello David and thanks for the great question. MSN allows you to view news, stock quotes, entertainment news, as well as weather. You can set your location as the default for the weather. If your weather location is changing, it could be for many different reasons.
Set the Default Location
Open Internet Explorer and navigate to the MSN website. Click the Sign In link in the upper right corner of the screen, and then enter your Windows Live ID account username and password to sign into your account.
Navigate to MSN weather by clicking the More link at the top of the screen and then click Weather.
Click the Find a Location link so you can set your city. Enter your city name and state, and then hit Enter. The weather information for that city will display on your screen.
Enter your city and state and hit Enter. MSN will pull up the weather information for the desired city. Click Save to save the settings.
Delete Other Cities Listed
Click the More Saved Locations link below the city. Any locations that are saved for the MSN weather will be listed on the screen. Click the X by the locations that you no longer need to delete them. If the location is not there, MSN will not be able to change to it.
Delete Cookies
A corrupted cookie could be causing this problem. To fix this, you can simply delete your cookies. To do this, perform the following steps for the browser that you are using:
Internet Explorer 9
Open Internet explorer window
Click the Tools button. Click Safety and then click Delete Browsing History
Check the Cookies checkbox, and then click the Delete button.
Mozilla Firefox
Open Firefox and click the Firefox button on the top left-hand corner of the window.
Click Tools and then click Tools again.
Click the Show Cookies button. Click the Remove All Cookies button to delete all cookies on your computer.

There is NO “Tools” option in MY Firefox tab: Only options to see/edit bookmarks, a “History” button for removing browsing history, and several similar options. NO “Tools” tab.
This doesn’t work. I have been having the same problem for a long time and it keeps changing it back to a nearby city even though I did not have it in the saved locations. Tried to change it many times, but nothing works.
The fix did not work. You can do the same steps by clicking on the location.
However,if I start Internet Explorer and immedediatly sign into “Welcome to MSN”, upper right hand corner, the page will refresh and my city shows as the weather location.
I guess that wii be my fix for now!
