This is another site I found in my hunt for sewing tips. I like it for two reasons: it has a comprehensive sewing guide and a listing of free projects!

To get to the sewing guide you want to turn your attention to the side menu. Under the Sewing Education click Guidelines for Sewing. This will whisk you away to the guide which breaks sewing down into 22 sections of tips. Section 1 will teach you all about the tools you’ll need and use in your projects. Section 2 teaches you sewing basics like setting up your sewing machine and what kinds of sewing machines there are. Section 3 teaches you about patterns. The guide goes all the way to Section 22 and you’ll learn a different skill from each section.

On the side menu you’ll also find a list of free patterns under the heading Free Projects. Each link is to a category of free patterns. The categories are: Baby & Toddler, Bridal, Charitable, Doll & Toys & Games, Fashion, Fun, Home Décor, Jewelry, Kids, Men, Pets, Pillow, Purses & Bags & Totes, Quilt, and Teen. Clicking into any of the categories will give you a plethora of free patterns to choose from. Just beneath the Free Projects on the side menu you’ll find Holiday Projects.

Another section I really enjoyed is the My Sewing/Craft Room where every month a different sewing/craft room is featured. It is always nice to see how someone else has organized their crafting supplies. I’m always looking for new solutions to storage that I can implement in my own home.
