I can still remember learning to use Power Point in high school. At the time I thought it was pretty nifty but I couldn’t visualize it being useful. Little did I know it took off in the business sector as an excellent presentation tool! I’m supremely glad I learned to use it in high school, especially since I have to use it in college to make presentations.
Slide Share allows you to share your Power Point presentations and Word documents both privately and publically for free! Not only can you share your files but you can see what other people in the community have shared!
Always take the Tour if they offer you one before registration, because it is the best way to get the feel for the service and see if you’ll really use it. Registration is easy. Fill out the form by creating a username and password, provide an e-mail address, and then select what type of account it is. I selected Default for the account setting. The next step is to fill out the form with your gender, Country, City, State, and to prove you’re human by typing in the code you see. Then click the Sign Up button.
Once you’ve registered you’ll be taken to the Find a Friend step, you can use either form to do so, or you can select to skip this step with the Skip button. You’re then taken directly to your file page. If you want to upload a file click the Browse button. Then select the file or files you want off your hard drive. Hold the ctrl button down to select multiple files at once. Once you’ve got the files you want click the open button, then fill out the form for the file. The form includes information like Title, Description, and Tags. When you’re all set – click the Publish button to upload the file to the site.
If you’re not ready to upload a file then you can start your trip by browsing the files published by other users. You can do this by using the search field at the top of the page, or by clicking the Browse link at the top of the page.
