Allen from Oakes, ND asks:
I recently went to Windows 7 and use web mail mostly. I was investigating incredimail 2, just to be able to send out BCC group emails at once. I got the address book set up, but it wants to sort contacts by the first name or email address only. Is there a way to change to sort by last name?
Incredimail is a fun e-mail program that includes a photomail maker that allows you to use your photos as backgrounds in your e-mail, animated e-mail notifiers such as a dog that trots your mail to you and licks the screen, different e-mail backgrounds, e-cards, and the ability to watch your e-mail change into or from a helicopter or a paper airplane as you receive, send or delete it. It can be downloaded here.
The Incredimail address book offers you the options to sort your contacts by e-mail address, or by last name.
In order to change your sort, in the IncrediMail main window, click the ‘Tools’ menu (marked in red) and select ‘Address Book…’ (marked in blue).
Then, click the column that you want your Address Book sorted by, for example, Display Name (marked in red), and your Address Book is instantly sorted according to your column selection.
It is important to remember, though, that your Key Contacts list is always sorted by the Display Name column. The IncrediMail Key Contacts list is a list of your favorite and often used contacts, and provides you with the simplest way to send your contacts email messages, by simply double-clicking the contact name in the Key Contacts pane in the IncrediMail main window. When you want to add a new contact to your Key Contacts pane, check the Add to Key Contacts (marked in red) to add this contact to your Key Contacts list.
Probably the easiest way that I can think of to make sure that the Display Name column is always sorted by last name is to enter the contacts’ last name in the first name field, and first name in the last name field. That way your key contacts will always be sorted by last name first.
Hope this helps.
