Google has started another Chrome Experiment called Spell Up – a game that is both fun and educational. It’s a virtual spelling bee!
You can learn more about the project and watch a short video on how it works here. You’ll need a microphone, and access to Google Chrome or an Android smart phone or tablet. It is also available for iPhones and iPads but you’ll have to type and not talk.
Designed to help improve English languages skills it is a fun way to practice whether English is your first or second language. I think this would be a great way for kids to practice spelling as well as for people learning English as a second language. ]
You spell, pronounce, and guess the missing letters depending on what challenge you face. As you answer correctly you build your tower, get an answer wrong and the tower comes tumbling down. You can earn coins to buy boosters, get help, and even master three levels of difficulty as you play!
I found it very fun! I used my Android smart phone to play, because my microphone wasn’t picking up well on my laptop. Go check it out for yourself today!
