The current file is only 36kb zipped, expanding to a huge 55kb when unzipped! HJ-Split is 200kb zipped. ;) Splitter Light is available from: http://www.martinstoeckli.ch/splitter/. It's almost identical to HJ-Split in the way it works, and that they both handle mega gigabyte files well, but one nice feature is that, as well as you being able to determine the exact size to split, there are pre-configured sizes for floppy (showing it's age!), CD and DVD. Like HJ-Split it is very simple, but there is also only one screen: Put in your target address, destination address, desired file size and either press Split or Join depending on what you're doing. If you are splitting a large file, both Splitter Light and HJ-Split will be a lot quicker than waiting for a file to upload to the internet, but File Apartment may be fractionally quicker if you have a small file. All the products do a good job, but I'm sticking with Splitter Light! Sorry guys :)

Another alternative: I have been using a similar Freeware product for years – Splitter Light (current incarnation v4.0) which I came across when I used Windows 98 and even an old version still works fine on my Windows 7 64bit.
