The announcement of Apple’s iPad by Steve Jobs has caused a major buzz in the computer world. Rumors regarding this device have been circulating for at least a year. However, you will be unable to purchase a iPad for at least three more months, mostly because Apple has yet to obtain authorization from the Federal Communication Commission. The iPad device looks like a large-scale iPhone, but with the added functionality of a eBook reader through it’s eBook app, called “iBook”. The device weights 1.5 pounds and will have a retail price of $499.
AT&T stated last Thursday that it will be investing an additional $2 billion on its network, mostly by adding an additional 2,000 cell phone towers and upgrading the current cellular towers. The company stated that the move is to keep up with the growing demand with new smartphones and and other 3G wireless devices, such as the new Apple iPad. AT&T will begin testing their 4G network this year with a planned release in the upcoming years. Sprint has already released it’s 4G network in select markets; Verizon plans to release their 4G network this year.
Facebook users have been confused and worried regarding an “unnamed app” which has appeared under their application settings. Facebook stated that due to a bug, an application listed as “Unnamed App” appeared in some users Application Settings. Upon the correction of the bug, no user accounts or data were deleted.
