Paypal Holds India Payments
In a recent post on the Paypal Blog, the online payment processing firm announced that it has suspended personal payments to and from India, as well as transfers to local banks in India. The company has not provided an official reason for the suspension, but did state that their business partners and stakeholders had questions regarding their services to India users.
The U.S. House of Representatives approved the Cyber Security Research and Development Act of 2009, a cybersecurity research bill which will provide funding to educate consumers, businesses and government employees about computer security. The bill will also create a cybersecurity scholarship program for college students and provide funding for research and coordination of cybersecurity between government agencies.
A security flaw has been located in the new iPhone operating system which can allow hackers to create configuration files that appear to be legit, but instead configure the iPhone to access malicious servers. The flaw exists in the protocol used to validate certifications which check to see if configuration files for the device come from a reliable source. Apple has not made an official announcement on the matter, although a patch is expected to be released shortly.
