If you haven’t experienced one of Eric Whitacre’s magical compositions then you have been missing out, and I’d love to rectify that! When I discovered that he gave a talk at TED I knew I had to share it with you.
His compositions are ethereal and exquisite. I’ve long been a fan of his work, so it brings me great joy to share his talk with you and maybe introduce you to his work!
I’m not going to steal the video’s thunder because Eric explains how he got started as a composer and conductor, and how he came up with the idea of creating a virtual choir. You’ll see clips from how it all began to create Lux Aurumque, see a clip of the finished version of it, and get a clip of his latest effort of virtual choir with Sleep.
If you would like to you can see his first foray into establishing a virtual choir here with Lux Aurumque. You can see the full version of Sleep here which has over 2,000 voices creating a virtual choir. And if you are as entranced as I am, you can check out other videos and compositions by Eric Whitacre by following the links in the video description or using the play lists on the right side of the page.
Go check it out!
