Teens Read Too is a site dedicated to reviewing Young-Adult Fiction.
In the About Me section, you learn that the site is run by Shannon from Social Circle, GA. You also learn how her passion for reading blossomed because of Young-Adult Fiction, and led her to become an English major in college.
Navigation is easy because the site is a blog. So, the newest entries are at the top, and you can scroll down to read the older entries. Along the left side of the page, you can also find navigation options for the archives. You can browse by Latest Reviews, Past monthly reviews, or by Category.
What I love about the reviews is that they aren’t so elevated, preventing teens from finding them useless. Nevertheless, they still focus on actual review criteria like Problems, Praise, and Predictions. I also really love the fact that if there is a trailer for the book being reviewed, she includes it in her post, as well as comments whether it is accurate or misleading. Book trailers, love them or hate them, tend to fall into those categories. They are either accurate or misleading, or sometimes ridiculous. This is also a great way to see what that book your teen wants to read is all about.
Another great feature of the site is the Coming Soon section, which you can get to by clicking Coming Soon at the top of the page. You’ll find a list of what Shannon will review next and get a brief synopsis of the titles.
Is there a book Shannon hasn’t reviewed that you’d like to see? Well then, head over to the Make a Suggestion section and submit a request. The form requests a name, e-mail address, book title and author, and an option section – Why Should I Read It? – where you can explain why you’d like Shannon to review your title of choice.
