The Leopard is Loose

The Leopard is Loose

Are you a Mac user? If so, I’m sure you’ve heard many different stories about the brand new operating system, called the Leopard, right? You have probably heard varying views and maybe even some different release dates for it, but after you finish reading this tip, you will know exactly what’s going on. If you recall, I mentioned a few things about the Leopard in last Friday’s newsletter and after doing that, I wanted to be extra sure that we were all on the same page with this new product. So, let’s get to it, shall we? Keep reading for the full scoop!

First of all, I can now say without any reservations that the Mac OS X Leopard (version 10.5) was released on October 26, 2007. (In case you don’t have a calendar handy, that was just this past Friday!) The Leopard was let loose around 6 p.m. and it is retailing for approximately $129. Originally, there was word about this being released six months ago, so this really has been a long time coming. I can also bet that it has been pretty difficult for some of you avid Mac users to wait that long, am I right? Well, you don’t have to wait any longer. You can now purchase your copy of the Leopard at any Apple retail store or from any Apple authorized reseller.

Like I said, this new operating system is going for the likes of $129, so you may be wondering if it’s really worth that kind of price. Well, try all of this on for size. The Leopard comes with over 300 new features, including a brand new desktop with Stacks, a much easier way to access your files from the Dock, a revamped Finder function, as well as, never before seen features that go by the names of Quick Look, Spaces and Time Machine. And that’s just the beginning! You can read even more about the new features here if you’re interested. I’m telling you, Apple really has thought of everything with this one. So, if you haven’t gotten your copy yet, I’d suggest getting it as soon as you’re able. It’s sure to take your Mac experience to the next level!
