This site is incredible. You can visit the famed Valley of the Kings, or take a tour of Thebes.
If you choose the “Atlas of The Valley of the Kings”, there is an unbelievable tomb tour which I highly recommend to everyone. It is at the bottom of the page in the black strip and is called “3D tour”.
You go through the tomb chamber by chamber with full explanation, and you can click on the images that are highlighted to see the tomb hieroglyphics in full color and detail, and then simply click “resume tour”. This is the tomb of Tausert and Setnakt. It has two burial chambers and was left unfinished; you can even see the reassembled sarcophagus.
The other part of the site is the “Atlas of Thebes” where you can visit different sections on the map, most with movie clips about the section you are looking at. This was really neat, if you want to check out the very famous King Tutankhamen you should visit number 62. It is in the “Valley of Kings” section on this map, you can also visit temples, the Valley of Queens, and much, much more.
I would also like to recommend the article section to you. You can browse through different subjects there with a little more ease, and less wait.
This is a fantastic site, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
