From research prior to my purchase, pricing reflexs the amount of memory. Like Steff, size of IPad is an issue. I have an Amazon e-reader and it's size is most comfortable to hold/use. Being skeptical regarding overall size of IPad, when my husband upgraded to IPad 3, I used his old one. It took only a few short days for my concerns to be proven true...and a few days after that I bought the IPad Mini and case. I couldn't be happier with my decision, in every respect! Visually, when the device is in it's case it's extremely difficult to tell if it's an e-reader or an IPad Mini. I recently purchased an IPad Mini. I figured that when it would come out, that it would cost around $300 give or take. After all, it's from the iPad family, the Apple family. Perhaps that's why it has a higher price. I'll pay the higher price. I can't use an alternative tablet because the music programs I want to use are only good for the iPad's. There's no other tablet out there that will use Apple's apps. Plus, for me, I wouldn't have a problem holding it because I have smaller fingers as well. Sometimes price can also mean a better product and because of the name too.
