You want to view your folders as a web page with items as a list. You set them this way, but after closing the folder and returning to it, the computer just puts the icons in as usual. How do you get them to stay the way you want? Is there a way to save these changes until you wish to change them. Doesn't that drive you nuts? Well, you'll be glad to learn it's easy to change (fix). Here's how to set it up so all your folders act the way YOU want - every time: First, set up a folder the way you want it to be. Here's how to do that: 1. Open the My Computer icon on your desktop (or in Windows XP, from your Start menu). At this point, you can open your C: drive and pick a favorite folder to play with, but you really don't need to. You can set this right from My Computer. 2. Using the View
menu, set the folder to the way you want all your folders to be. For example,
if you're like me, you want to see all file info. So, I selected the
View menu, Details.
3. OK, now let's make all your little folders act the same way. Click the View menu (or Tools menu, depending on your version of Windows) and select Folder Options. Click the View
tab and click the "Like Current Folder" or "Apply
to all folders" button. It will ask you for confirmation, press
"Yes". Finally, press the OK button and you're
all set. To give it a test run, open any folder on your C: drive, it should look exactly the way you want it to.
