GUI - A GUI (pronounced "gooey") is a Graphical User Interface. Windows is an example of it. If you can push buttons, scroll scrollbars, or interact with any kind of non-text element on a page, you're using a GUI. DOS would be an example of something that is NOT a GUI. Everything is text based. If you want the computer to do something, you type in the appropriate (and cryptic) command. No button clicking here. Keep in mind that DOS can run a GUI (like windows 3.1), but in and of itself, it's not a GUI. So, if you ever hear someone say they like the GUI of a certain program, you'll know what they're taking about.
