Do have a folder you use all the time? Want to make it easier to get at? Put a number "1" in front of it. Since Windows lists folders alphabetically, it will be on the top of any folder list you look at. I used this little trick for a folder I created for my graphics files. I had created a folder named "Pictures" on my C: drive. However, (before I discovered this trick) I always had to scroll around to find the folder. Then I put a "1" in front of it and have had easy access ever since. Here's how it used to be:
In case you're not sure how to re-name folders, here's a rundown: 1. Right-click My Computer, Explore. 2. Navigate to the folder. Right-click it and select "rename" from the resulting menu.
3. The name of the folder is now highlighted. Click it once with your left mouse button so that the whole name is no longer selected. 4. Using your arrow keys, move the cursor into position before the first letter in the name of the folder. Type the number 1 and hit enter.
5. That's it. Hit F5 and you'll see your folder listed at the top of the heap.
Keep in mind it probably isn't a good idea to rename a folder unless you created it. If you rename a program folder, you probably won't be able to access the program from its shortcut anymore.
