Tip #2852 - Print Heads

Print
Heads
After reading the
tip on cleaning
print heads, it seems that some of you are still a little confused
about where the print heads are actually located in your printer. I'll
try my best to clear that up for you all today!
First, just a small
definition of a print head. A print head is the device within the printer
that actually sprays the droplets of ink onto the paper you are printing
with. If it weren't for print heads, you would have a blank piece of paper
just like you had before you started. A lot of the newer printers these
days use cartridges that have the print heads attached to them. Others
still use separate print heads and cartridges.
If your printer uses
separate ones, they are located right next to where the ink cartridges
snap into place. Otherwise, the print heads and cartridges will be connected
as one piece all its own. If you're not sure if your print heads are separate
or not, just take a look at them. You should be able to tell. If you're
still not sure, you can probably find that information in the manual that
came with your printer.
There are advantages
and disadvantages to both ways of the printing setup, so either way, you're
good to go! Happy printing!
