Save
Internet Radio
The other day, we
ran an article on how it seems like the days of Internet radio are quickly
dwindling down. Well, after that, I received an e-mail from one of your
fellow readers and it looks like we were wrong! Yes, the date for everything
to end is still set for July 15, 2007, but that leaves a lot of time for
all of us to make a difference. So, if you're an avid Internet radio user,
make sure you keep reading for all the details!
As the other tip stated, an
Internet Radio Equality Act has been introduced to the House of Representatives
and the Senate. Since they know all about it, they're the ones who may
be able to help. To do your part, you can contact your state officials
and ask them to co-sponsor the new Act. Now, you may be wondering, "How
on earth can I do that"? Well, allow me to tell you. It's very simple
and it will only take a few minutes of your time.
There is a Web site devoted
to saving Internet radio called SaveNetRadio.
If you visit that site, it will tell you everything you need to know about
what's going on. When you're ready, just click on the link that says "Call
your Senators and Representative." Once you do that, you
can enter in your zip code and it will bring up all the information you
need in order to call. It lists the names of your officials, their phone
numbers and it even gives you some "talking points" as to what
you can say to them.
Now, I know this seems
like it may not really work, but if you help spread the word, it just
might. So, I urge you to do your part for the world of Internet radio.
I'm calling today. Are you?
