PSP
Do you PSP? Well,
the population of people who own a Playstation Portable is rapidly growing,
so I thought I would share a little information about it. Here you go!
The Playstation Portable,
or PSP, was originally released by Sony Entertainment
America on March 24, 2005. The PSP is designed to be a miniature version
of the Playstation video game console. However, playing video games is
only a small portion of the many things you can do with the PSP.
The PSP can also view pictures, play music, view home videos and surf
the Web. For playing games and movies, the PSP uses a special CD called
a UMD (universal media disc). A UMD is basically a mini CD inside of a
plastic container used to prevent illegal copies of the game. Most of
the time, when a movie is released onto DVD, a copy is also made in the
UMD format for PSP users.
The PSP
uses a memory stick and a USB cord to transfer information between the
computer and PSP. A memory stick comes in sizes ranging from 32 MB to
4 GB. To transfer data, you can purchase a program that makes it easier
to manage the media that you transfer or you can also just use Windows
Explorer.
The PSP connects to the Internet using WiFi hotspots. You can also use
its wireless technology to play against someone else who also has a PSP
in a game.
The PSP comes with
a 4.3 inch screen, which is great for playing games or viewing videos.
It also includes headphones and a remote control to change, fast forward,
rewind or pause, without having to change it on the PSP. The PSP’s
battery life is about four hours as well.
The PSP can be purchased
in a Value Pack or a Giga Pack. The Value Pack includes one game and a
32 MB memory stick, where as the Giga Pack includes 1 GB of memory. Both
include a soft carrying case too. The PSP is great for multimedia lovers,
