Get
Out of That List Quickly
If you're like me,
you don't really mind the automatic numbering and bulleting MS Word does
with lists.
You know, when Word
realizes you're creating a list and it helps you along with the same continued
formatting.
But, after working with many
different people, I have found that some folks just don't seem to know
how to get out of the list. That is, they aren't sure how to put an end
to the numbering that takes place every time they hit the Enter key.
There are many ways,
but the way I like the best (and doesn't require my hands to leave the
keyboard) is to use the Backspace key.
Yep, that's right.
One quick stab at the Backspace key removes the number
and another will remove the tab indent that occurred when the numbering
started.
Once you've got the
numbering stopped, you're free to use the Enter key as
usual.
No more numbers. Well,
that is, no more numbers until Word catches you making another list!
