We all have our
favorite videos on YouTube and other video sites, right? You know,
maybe it’s a music video or one you find to be hilarious. Either
way, if you have your own Web site or a MySpace profile, how would
you like to show everyone your favorite videos right from there? Sounds
cool, huh?! Then let’s get to it.
You may have seen
other sites embed videos from YouTube right on their pages. I mean,
it’s pretty common and to be honest, embedding videos is really
easy!
1.) Embedding
videos onto your Web site is just a matter of copying and pasting
the HTML code. So, first, you need to find the YouTube
video you’d like to embed. You can search for it right on YouTube's
site.
2.) Once you’re
on the video page, look to the right of the video and under the video
description, you will see a field called Embed.
3.) All you need
to do is copy all of that HTML code and paste it onto your Web site,
MySpace profile or wherever else you'd like to put it. (That is, any
place that accepts HTML coding).
4.) Pretty easy,
huh?! This trick will work on all popular video sites (like MySpace
Videos and Google Video). Just look for the option that says Video
Code, Embed or Put This Video on
Your Page.
But we aren’t
done yet! YouTube allows you to make a custom video player as well,
which is sort of like a collage of all your favorite videos. You have
to check this out too!
1.) To create
a custom player, you will need to have a YouTube account. So, go ahead
and log in. If you don’t already have one, you can quickly create
one right here.
2.) Next, you
will need to have a playlist of the videos you want to add to your
player. You may already have a playlist created, but if not, search
for a video you like and select a result.
3.) If you like it, press the Save to Favorites button
under the video.
4.) Now, you can add the video to an existing playlist or create a
whole new one.
5.) You can finish by adding all the videos you want to your playlist.
Don’t worry, you can always add more later as well!
6.) Next, head
over to this Web site: http://www.youtube.com/custom_player.
7.) Type in the Player Name and Description and then select a color
scheme that matches your site.
8.) Now, select a layout. I think layout number two is nice, because
it allows the visitor to select if he or she wants to watch different
videos. But the choice is yours!
9.) Finally, select the correct playlist and press Generate
Code.
10.) Just copy and paste the code and viola, you're all set!
You now have a super cool custom video player and all the videos you
love right at your fingertips!
