Q:
Can you talk a little about the search engine of Prevy.com? It seems
like a really good search tool, but I would still like to know a little
more about its features, etc. Thanks for your assistance!

Of course I can! Prevy.com
is actually one of my favorite new search engines, so I'll have no
trouble whatsoever telling you all about it. We all know there are
a variety of search engines on the Web these days and it seems like
they're growing more and more everyday. Each one claims to do something
different for a better search experience and well, Prevy is no exception!
Prevy.com really does bring something new to the world of search engines,
so if you're interested in finding out what that is, I recommend you
continue reading!
First
of all, you can get to Prevy.com by going here.
Once you're there, you will see their logo at the top and below that
is the actual search box. The different categories you can search
under are Web, Pictures, Music, Encyclopedia and Video. To perform
a search, just type in what you'd like to look for and then hit the
Search button. Now, what's really cool about Prevy
is that it sort of acts as a medium between itself and other popular
search engines. Yep, you guessed it. Prevy works right along with
several other search engines to give you the best results as possible.
By
that, I mean you can choose where your results come from and each
category on Prevy's main page has its own set of options. For example,
if you're searching for something on the Web, you can choose to receive
results from either Google, Yahoo!, Ask, MSN or Alexa. On the other
hand, if you're searching under the Music category, you can choose
to see results from Yahoo!, Altavista, Alltheweb or Copernic. To do
this, you just type your search query into the search box and then
hit the button of whichever site you'd like to deal with. If you don't
choose one, Prevy will automatically send you to the first one that
appears. Either way, you're getting great results!
Now, I bet you're
probably wondering, "What if I want to see the results from all
the sites?" Am I right? Well, that's easy! Once you go to one
site, a Prevy box will be docked at the top of your Web browser and
you can change the sites as often as you wish. For instance, let's
say you chose to use Yahoo! for a music search. Once you type in your
query and go to Yahoo's! page, look to the top of your browser and
you will see the Prevy window sitting there. So, if you want to check
out more of your results, just click on another site's button and
you'll be whisked away to that page. If you want to change it again,
just do the same thing. It's never been easier to navigate through
different search engines to find exactly what you're looking for and
it's all powered by Prevy!
Another cool thing
about Prevy.com is that it's pretty much all color coded. Everything
in the Web category is black, Pictures is blue, Music is pink, Encyclopedia
is yellow and Video is purple. Those are the colors you'll see when
you're dealing with each search category on its own. It's an easy
way to keep everything straight. Plus, the colors are very pretty
and they add a little extra jazz to your search results. You have
to love that! Also, you can search through Prevy in either English,
Spanish or French. To change the language, just click on the
En, Es or Fr at the very
bottom of Prevy's homepage. It's so nice to have options, isn't it?!
There's one more
thing I want to tell you about and then I'll let you go explore on
your own. On Prevy.com's homepage, you will see a smaller search box
to the right of the main search area. With that, you can download
Prevy's Web Searcher or Music Searcher (or both!),
which allows you to search right from your desktop. To learn more
about it, go ahead and click on the More Details
button. Once you get there, you will see that one side is for the
Web Searcher and the other is for the Music Searcher. You will also
see different colored boxes. From those, you can choose which one
you'd like to put on your desktop. You can pick between purple, a
light gray, pink or blue. Once you've made your decision, just click
the Download button next to the color of your choice.
Next, click Run twice and then follow along with
the wizard to complete the installation. It only takes a couple seconds.
Once it's done,
you will have a new icon on your desktop. Double click that and the
Web Searcher or Music Searcher box will pop up. You can then just
type in your search query and hit Go. It will take
you to your search results with the Prevy toolbar still along for
the ride. That way, you can search easily and quickly right from your
desktop, but you still have access to all the features Prevy has to
offer. I'm telling you, searching the Web has never been easier. There
are so many things you can do with Prevy, it's unbelievable! If you're
