Update:
Firefox 3
If
you recall, awhile back, I informed you that the Mozilla company was
going to be releasing a new version of Firefox in the very near future.
Well, the waiting period is now over! Yep, on November 19, 2007, Mozilla
released the first beta version of Firefox
3 and it is now available for download. If that doesn't get
you excited, I don't know what will! And as a "thank you"
for being so patient, Mozilla has made this one extra special. Keep
reading to find out what you can expect for the Firefox Web browser
from here on out!
Now,
before I go any further, I want to make sure everyone understands that
this new release is a beta version only. The final version of Firefox
3 will be released after some testing is done and Mozilla is able to
go through all of the feedback they receive for it. So, as it stands
right now, you can download Firefox 3 for yourself, but beware that
there are some bugs within it. If you don't want to deal with all of
that, you may just want to wait until the final version is released.
As of right now, I don't know when that will be, but it shouldn't be
too much longer. A beta release is always a good sign for the real thing
to follow shortly after!
Once
you do download Firefox 3, you will be able to enjoy tons of new features.
For example, the new browser has been built based on a Gecko 1.9 Web
platform, which will result in more security, ease of use, stability,
code simplification and sustainability. The new features are geared
toward making your Firefox experience a lot more personal as well. You
can check out a full list of the changes from Mozilla's release notes
here,
if you'd like. You'll find the link to the download on that page as
well. Just choose your language, your operating system and hit the Download
link. Again, Mozilla is always looking for feedback, so if you try this
out, let them know what you think. Otherwise, I'll continue to keep
you all updated on the full release. As soon as I hear anything, you
will too!
