New
Release: Firefox 2.0.0.10
That's
right, another new version of the Firefox Web browser has just been
released! On November 26, 2007 (just this past Monday), Firefox
2.0.0.10 made its debut into the Mozilla family. It hasn't
even been a full month since the last version (2.0.0.9) was released,
but when Mozilla sees some changes that need to be made, they don't
waste any time! I know it's a little overwhelming to keep up with all
of these Firefox updates, but we can either do that or work with a browser
that's not quite up to par. I don't know about you, but I'd rather deal
with the updates. Keep reading to learn all about Firefox 2.0.0.10!
Very
few items were changed for this new version, but they were some security
issues that needed to be fixed right away. Here they are: 1.) Referer-spoofing
via window.location race condition, 2.) Memory corruption vulnerabilities
(rv: 1.8.1.10) and 3.) jar: URI scheme XSS hazard. Now, I know all of
that may be a little confusing to you, but trust me, they are things
you use everyday within Firefox and it's wonderful that they're now
working properly. We all owe a big thank you to Mozilla for correcting
these problems!
Now,
the other day, I told you about the Firefox 3 beta version being released
and I want to make sure no one's confusing that with what we're talking
about today. They are two completely different things, so I wanted to
be certain that everyone is clear on that. So, when you're ready, you
can download Firefox 2.0.0.10 for yourself right from this link.
Just click on the big green "Download Firefox - Free"
button and follow the install instructions. Or, you can get the update
right from your Firefox browser. Just open it up, go to Help,
Check for Updates and it will pop up for you. It's
as easy as pie. Update your Firefox today and be safe!
