Tip #4457 - Maximize It

Maximize
It
Do you find the
dialogue windows (such as the Save As or Open windows) that open when
you use a feature in the MS Office Suite programs to be too small?
Wish you had a way to maximize
them?
Yes?
Then consider
your wish granted! Well, sort of. Actually, consider your wish granted
a few times!
There are a few
dialogue windows that can be maximized to fill your screen, which
is very helpful in windows with a lot of items listed. More space
equals more items listed, without the need to scroll.
The thing is though,
you probably never thought you could maximize them, because there
are no buttons next to the Close icon, indicating that a size change
is possible.
To see if it is
possible, all you have to do is double click the title bar
of the window. If it can be maximized, a quick double click will do
the trick.

Changed your mind?
You don't want it to be maximized? No problem! Just double
click on the title bar again and the window will return to
its original size.
I checked out
several different windows and found this works with the Save As, Open
and Insert Symbol windows. It seems to me those are good places for
this type of feature. They are windows that often have long lists
displayed within them and the larger the display area, the less chance
you'll need to scroll through items to find what you need.
I'm positive there
are other windows that will work too, but you'll just have to see.
Just give it a try with any window you feel needs a size change!
