Changing
Your OE Password
Are
you an avid Outlook Express user? If so, you probably use it on a daily
basis for all your e-mail needs, right? And during all that time, do
you ever think about your Outlook Express password? If you're like me,
you plum forgot that Outlook Express even requires a password. I have
mine set to be remembered by OE, so it never really crosses my mind.
I know several of you are probably in the same boat as me, but that
doesn't mean we shouldn't think about our password from time to time.
So, that's exactly what we're going to do today!
Can
you even remember the last time you changed your Outlook Express password?
Do you even remember what it is? Well, it's important to change your
e-mail passwords every now and again to ensure your e-mail accounts
stay secure. These days, hackers are able to steal passwords in a matter
of seconds, so it's crucial that we change them on a regular basis.
Now, changing your password in Outlook Express requires some assistance
from your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Warning: If
you try to do it on your own, your e-mail will literally shut itself
down and you will not be able to access it at all.
So,
go ahead and give your ISP a call. All you have to do is tell them you
would like to change your OE password and they will take it from there.
You'll just have to give them some basic information about your account
and then tell them what you want your new password to be. Again, you
must go through your ISP to change your password. You shouldn't even
try to do it yourself, because it will only cause you trouble on down
the road. Either way, it's good to change your password at least once
a month in order to keep your e-mail as safe and secure as possible.
Come on, do it as a gift to yourself!
