Many
Task Panes in One
Are you using
Office XP or 2003? Ever notice how the Task Pane switches from the
New Document list to another feature, such as inserting clip art,
when you activate them? Wouldn't it be nice to know how to get the
Task Pane to switch any time you'd like?
If you're thinking
it might not be a bad idea to understand the "little monster"
to the right of your document just a little bit better, take a look
at the top of the Task Pane. See the down arrow just
to the left of the X that closes it?

Go ahead
and click on that down arrow.
A list of different
features will open, allowing you to choose the part of the Task Pane
you need.

Select
one.
Obviously, the
New Document material has disappeared. You could use the down arrow
to get it back, but you don't have to. (You don't want it to be too
far away though, because it can be pretty helpful).
Take a look in
the left corner of the Task Pane's title bar.

The left
and right arrows will let you switch between the feature
you just chose and the New Document Task Pane.
There you have
it. Control over the Task Pane like you've never seen before!
