Control
C
Have you ever
wanted to share data you’ve found on a larger scale? You know,
perhaps a funny image or link you found recently. Or, maybe you need
some information you copied earlier from an e-mail or a Web page and
now you can’t find it. Well, now you can with Control C! Control
C is a Web site where, once you’re registered, you can download
their program for free and share what you find with others. It’s
as simple as copy, paste and share.
Registration is
really easy! You start off by entering the authentication code and
then you fill out your registration form. Make sure you read through
the terms and agreements and then click Submit when you’re ready
to get started. You don’t have to wait on any confirmation e-mails
or anything.
Once you’re
registered, you are taken directly to the download page where you
need to choose your platform. Your options are: Windows, Mac OS, Linux
and Source Code. It was an extremely fast download and install as
well. Once it's installed, simply log in with your e-mail address
and password. You’ll then see the Control C icon in your system
tray.
Now, what this
program does is collect all the information you copy and it stores
it in your account right on the Web site. I cannot even begin to tell
you how much of a Godsend this has been for me when writing up my
cool sites!
To find your copied
information, you can either go to the Web page and log in, go to Manage
or you can right click the icon in your system tray and choose Manage
Items. There you will have to input your password again, because everything
you store is password protected.
Next, you’ll
see what you copied and you can just click on it to see the whole
entry. You can also delete what you’ve copied here by clicking
the checkbox and then the arrow next to the Delete option. On the
whole entry area, you can add comments, choose to make it public and
see how many times it has been viewed.
If you run into
any trouble, there is an extensive Help section. You can either click
the Help link at the top of the page or the FAQ link at the bottom
of the page.
This application
is going to be a life saver for me for sure. I hope it will be for
you too!
