Parental
Control Bar
Today, I have
a security tip and a free download all packed in to one! I'm sure
there are many of you parents and grandparents out there who are concerned
about the possibility of your children and grandchildren accessing
Web sites that are not intended for them. Well, lucky for all of you,
I have a solution! I was able to find a program called Parental
Control Bar that will help keep your children safe while
they're online, which will also give you peace of mind when you're
away from the computer!
Installing the
Parental Control Bar is simple! Just go to this Web
site and click on the green Download button.
Run the program and it will walk you through the installation. After
the program is installed, you will see that the toolbar has a button
to switch from Parent mode to Child
mode. It's as simple as that!
Now, if you want
to customize the bar to allow certain site categories or specific
Web sites, just click on the Change Parental Settings
button. You can then customize it any way you want! For example, if
your child comes across a Web site that is blocked and you want to
unblock it, simply type in your parental password and it will be added
to the Allowed Sites list. Isn't that easy? I sure thought so!
Note:
This toolbar works with Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP. It is also compatible
with these Web browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari.

Enjoy and until
next week, stay safe out there, my friends!
