TED
I am so pleased
to be bringing you this Web site! Every year, there is a TED conference
and this year, they are sharing it with the world. TED stands for
Technology, Entertainment and Design.
There are three
ways to navigate through this site: By Theme, Talk Title or Speaker.
You can also navigate by ratings, which are Inspiring, Funny and Jaw-dropping.
On the side menu,
you can choose how you’d like to view the themes. You can choose
Visualization (how it was when you found it) or List. If you switch
it to List, you will be changing the items in the Featured section
on the page to a list style setup.
On the main page,
you will see the Featured section. From the graphic blocks in the
middle of the page, you can click into the different sections. I chose
the one of the girl playing the violin and it took me to Live Music.
I scrolled down the page until I found her, because I adore violin
music. Plus, I cannot begin to tell you how amazing it was to watch
Sirena Huang play the violin and then discuss how it works!
When you choose
a selection to watch, the video will load and play after a short advertisement.
Beneath the video, you have the option to Bookmark This Talk, Download
This Talk or Share This Talk.
Under Bookmark
This Talk, you have the option to sign in and add it to your favorites
with either Add to Digg or Add to del.icio.us.
The Download This
Talk area gives you two options to download it. You can either save
it to your desktop or you can download it in an iTunes format.
lets you e-mail it to a friend and it gives you the code you need
to embed the video or to link back to this page.
If you want to
join TED.com, it’s completely free! Just go here,
fill out the form and click Submit.
This site is filled
with talks that have really inspired me. I hope you’ll be able
to find something to enjoy as well!
