Badge
Maker
Do you need badges
for an event? Or, perhaps you want to make ID tags. Either way, now
you can for free! Plus, it's very easy to do. All you need is a digital
photo on your computer, this Web site and a printer!
This is another
Web site I found while trying to find stuff for my mom. She co-organizes
the Student Council at her school and she wanted to make them badges,
without any of the hassle.
To get started,
click on the Choose button to select a photo. Once you’ve found
the image you want to use, you’ll need to decide which portion
of the photo you want the badge to focus in on. Usually, it's best
to go with the center of the photo, so I left mine on the default
center setting.
Next, you need
to choose what kind of badge you want. Your options are: Photo Badge
(landscape or portrait), Name Badge (landscape or portrait), Flickr
Badge (landscape or portrait) and Original. If you select any of those
choices from the drop down box, the badges on the side of the page
will change so that you can see an example of what they will actually
look like.
Everything else
on the form is optional and completely customizable.
Badge Color – click
the square of color to change the color of the badge. It opens a color
wheel that lets you select a different color for your badge.
Header Text –
This is where you type in what you want the top of the badge to say.
For example, you could have a header text that reads: PRESS PASS.
Footer Text –
This is the text that runs along the bottom of the card. By default,
they have it set to Official, which you can also see from the example
badge.
Next, you need
to decide if you want an official looking bar code or not. You can
see that in the example as well.
Name – Here
you put the name you want the badge to display.
Text – Here
you can type credentials, a short biography or even privileges and
duties.
The next fields
have to do with dates and are pretty self-explanatory. They are: Member
Since, Expires and Birth Date.
Once you’ve
filled out the form to your desired specifications, click on the Create
button. The site will then generate your badge, which may take several
minutes, depending on the site's traffic.
When your badge
is done, you’ll find options beneath it to Edit, Start Over,
Save, Upload to Flickr, Share or E-mail.
That’s all
there is to it! That was pretty easy, right? I hope you enjoy your
badge making. I have already started helping my mom make hers and
I love it!
