Can
You Run It?
Do you often find
yourself asking that question when you go to install a program on
your computer? I play a lot of computer games, so I tend to ask myself
that question a lot. Well, this Web site automatically checks your
computer's settings and compares them to what you’d like to
install. And it does it in mere seconds!
The programs they
have are mostly games, but with most computer games costing anywhere
between $20 and $60 retail, you could be saving yourself a lot of
money by finding out if your computer will even run the game before
you buy it. I was very happy to see games for children on the list
as well!
To get started,
choose a game from the drop down menu and then click on the “Can
You RUN It?” button. If you're using Internet Explorer, you
may have to install the ActiveX Control, so just go ahead and do that
and you'll then get your results.
Once the test
is done, you can scroll down to see all of the different components
it tested and where your computer rated. When I received my video
card’s results, I found out I could update my drivers for it
and it also provided a link to the manufacturer’s Web site to
get those updates. How cool is that?!
On the right side
of the main page, you'll see a list of games that have recently been
added to the compatibility list. Beneath the analyzer, you’ll
find a listing of what the analyzer does, what the system requirements
are to run it and a heads up about the ActiveX Control download I
mentioned earlier. You’ll also find a link to their FAQ section,
which answers any questions you may have.
